Happy Birthday, Leo,
Though your face I cannot see,
Deep within this heart of mine
Is where you'll always be.
This should have been a banner year--
With teen years left behind;
For you'd be turning twenty,
A different state of mind.
You'd not be fully grown, I know,
Though surely not a child,
But I hope you'd keep within yourself
A little streak of wild.
So many happy memories
From birthdays of the past,
They're all I have to treasure now,
So they must always last
Until the day God calls for me
And brings me to your side,
And then a flood of happiness
Will float me on its tide.
Together, then, in heaven
Is where we'll always be,
My very special angel,
My Leo, son, and me.
